Auto reply in Gmail

If at all in any circumstances,you are not able to reply your e-mail personally then you can set in as an auto reply mode of all your incoming e-mails.

It happens many a time that you are enable to revert back your incoming e-mails for many reasons.Either you are not feeling well or you are on holidays and want to take break from your daily routines so in all situation if you don’t want to put your sender in awkward or disguise situation,you can apply auto reply facility from your e-mail settings.

To overcome this type of situations you can take the help of  “vacation auto reply” features in your e-mail account.

Here we will take the example of Gmail account as it is same for all the accounts.

For Computers

  1. First log in to your Gmail account
  2. Go to settings by clicking gear icon
  3. Go to General tab and find vacation responder
  4. Enable vacation responder
  5. write the period of the dates you are not available (write from first day from the last day of your unavailibity.say 5 April 2016 to 15 April 2016)
  6. Write the subject of your e-mail
  7. and last write your reply which you want to send to your sender as an auto reply.(You can write anything say the name of the person whom you have given an authority to reply on your behalf or you can also write not able to reply on mobile phones also in case of illness and like that many more)
  8. You can also set by enabling send auto reply from your contact list only,this will send auto reply only to your contacts saved in your e-mail list and not to all.
  9. now save all the above settings and your auto reply will be activated.

Auto reply will end automatically on the last date of auto reply which you had mentioned in settings.




For Android and iOS

    1. open your Gmail app
    2. select 3 small horizontal line and go to settings
    3. Here you will see all the Gmail accounts if you have accounts more then one.
    4. select the one account which you are using the most or the account in which you want to activate auto reply
    5. find the vacation responder
    6. Enable vacation responder
    7. write the period of the dates you are not available (write from first day from the last day of your unavailibity.say 5 April 2016 to 15 April 2016)
    8. Write the subject of your e-mail

NOTE:You can activate auto reply in any one device only,there is no need to activate it in all the devices as it will be activated automatically in all your devices in computers or in mobile phones.

REMEMBER:Please do not disclose more about your absenteeism in an auto reply.Just write what is needed for your security purpose.
